Monday – Friday Itinerary in the Village:

The weekdays are packed full of mobile clinics, workshops, and medical skills training. Below is a list of activities during the week.

Mobile School Clinics:

The majority of our program is mobile based. Our public health services reach over 200 schools on a regular, quarterly basis. Our role will be to assist HopeCore in providing medical services and implementing educational resources. Responsabilities include triaging students, perform growth monitoring, screen for common childhood illnesses and provide basic immunizations and age-related health information. These schools are rural and often are far away from medical care, the clinics that we help conduct are often the only opportunity for children to receive medical care. We have a robust follow up program and also offer free clinics to mothers of the students and theirchildren who are under 5 years of age.

Community Outreach

We join HopeCore in setting up mobile clinics throughout the community and perform a variety of free health services to the villagers including infectious disease screening, blood pressure & glucose monitoring, family planning, nutrition, and pediatric health education.

Clinical Skills Workshop:

The main goal of our MedTreks program is to help strengthen the healthcare capacity in Kenya by providing continuing education, skills training, and health information to the HopeCore public health team. Throughout the week our teams collaborate in various skills and workshops with topics including CPR, first aid, wound care dermatology, pediatrics, acute care palliative care, maternal health and perinatal care, team building, leadership, and telemedicine.
